The Demise Of Magic.
When you are a child, everything is so magical, mysterious and exciting. Each new place you visit is full of wonder and there are always interesting things to see or do.
Time has very little meaning when you are so young. There are mealtimes and bedtimes to work around, but apart from these the days are long, joyful and full of adventure. Waiting five minutes for something feels like forever and there is never any reason to stop having fun.
Being a child is the most wonderful thing in the world, but we do not realise it at the time. Back then, the biggest choices we had were whether to buy comics, sweets or an orange bum bag ,with our pocket money!
When you think back to being a child, it seems a little bit cruel. Why did it all have to change? If we could live it all over again, then we would certainly appreciate those magical years a whole lot more. Being an adult may look like fun from a child’s perspective, but it is full of stress, worry and hard work.
When we do have any free time, we will often strive desperately to relive those years of innocence. We will go out for a walk somewhere picturesque and try to see the beauty around us; but as a child, this was just a natural ability. In our friendships we tend to see many kinds of problems when all we really want is a hug.
We will even try to recreate our playtimes by going away on adventure holidays or taking up extreme sports. Wanting to return to our childhood is an incredibly popular desire and we have all daydreamed about it at one time or another.
As depressing as it may sound, the truth of it is this; we were all in such a rush to grow up, but when we finally did, we wished we never had!
